Jacob Loewentheil is an archivist, author, rare bookseller, and photography dealer.  In his work as a purveyor of historical objects, he has placed items with institutions such as the Library of Congress as well as in important private collections. His work as curator of The Marcel Sternberger Collection focuses on returning public attention to one of the great portrait photographers of the last century. In that capacity, he has displayed Dr. Sternberger’s work in both public and academic exhibits and given lectures on it at venues such as The New York Public Library. He lives in Manhattan and graduated from Cornell University with a degree in psychology. His book, The Psychological Portrait: Marcel Sternberger’s Revelations in Photography, draws on his academic work and photographic research to explore the work of Marcel Sternberger through previously unpublished photographs and documents.  His personal interests include Beat-era manuscripts and material as well as great photographs of every time period.
