Shortly after arriving in Mexico in 1952, the Sternbergers formed a close friendship with renowned artists and radicals Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. They often visited Diego and Frida at La Casa Azul, their home in Mexico City, and it soon became the setting for an intimate photo shoot. Adorned in an embroidered Oaxacan dress and ribbons in her hair, Frida gazes lovingly at Diego, who holds their beloved pet dog in his lap.

All photographs are limited edition gelatin silver, numbered on the verso, and sealed with a stamp of authenticity. Photographs are sold unframed and printed from the original negative 2017 to the present.
