Frida Kahlo
Frida Kahlo
Mexico, 1952
With flowers in her hair, thick brows, and a strong gaze, Frida Kahlo’s look is iconic. Marcel Sternberger took this intimate photograph of Frida at La Casa Azul, her vibrant home in Mexico City, in 1952. Despite her deteriorating health and extended periods of bedridden recovery, Sternberger recounted, Frida’s “presence made itself felt, as always.” This photograph suggests the close friendship between Frida, Diego Rivera, and the Sternbergers, reflecting the intimate moments they shared with the renowned artist.
All photographs are limited edition gelatin silver, numbered on the verso, and sealed with a stamp of authenticity. Photographs are sold unframed and printed from the original negative 2017 to the present.
